On behalf of the Council of Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria), I write to call for position papers and proposals from registered Information Technology practitioners.

Early this year, Council observed that among the list of delegates to the National Conference published by the Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF), there was no representative of the Information Technology (IT) profession and the Information Technology industry at large. A letter was written by the Nigeria Computer Society to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) on this omission, but nothing was done to correct the omission.

However, Council is constantly monitoring the on-going at the conference. We are aware that the Committee on Science and Technology will soon commence sitting, therefore, we request that our members prepare position papers on the need for government to support and promote Information Technology in the country and ways Federal government could deploy IT to achieve its transformation agenda. The papers could impact positively on the government policy towards Information Technology in the country. The paper should be sent to info@cpn.gov.ng on or before Thursday 8th May, 2014.

The papers will then be forwarded to the National Conference Committee on Science and Technology.
