In accordance with the responsibility of regulating, controlling and supervising of the computing profession and practice in Nigeria Section 1 (2) of the Act. Computer Professional’s Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) and some members of the profession were at the Computer Science Department of the Federal University of. Science and Technology, from 14^th to 17^th of May 2017 to carry out accreditation exercise

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Musbau A.Akanji, and other Principal Officers of the Institution were all present to welcome the CPN team. The Chairman of the panel from CPN, Prof A.A Obiniyi informed the Vice –Chancellor and his team that the Panel was in the Institution as part of CPN’s statutory functions of quality assurance in computer Science Education. He assured the Vice Chancellor of a thorough accreditation excercise.

Thereafter, the Vice Chancellor expressed his joy at having the Panel around and commended the Council for having good hands in their accreditation Panel. He assured the panel of the readiness of the school to subject the computer science programme to critical analysis.

Present at the accreditation exercise were  Prof. A.A Obiniyi, Prof. A.E Okeyinka Dr. M.B Galadima, Mr. Raphael Omosola and a staff of CPN Mr. Ameen Ismalia.
