The Computer
Professionals (Registration Council of
Nigeria) [CPN] wishes to refute the rumours going on in some quarters that
it is in the process of delisting some members from its Register. Not only is
this false and unfounded, it remains the figment of the imagination of the
faceless people peddling it.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state that,
as the apex regulatory body in the education and practice of IT in Nigeria, the
Council remains committed to enhancing industry standards in order to
strategically position IT for significant contribution to national development.
The idea of delisting members from the Register was never mooted by the
Council.
It has become imperative to put the records
straight for posterity sake and also to correct any erroneous impression that
the rumour might have created in the minds of members of the IT profession and
the general public. Should there be need to clarify any issues relating to the
Council or its activities, please send mails to: info@cpn.gov.ng, pr@cpn.gov.ng, or
call: 0803 358 8145, 0703 543 7642 or 0818 195 4816.
